Opening Arguments Begin

April 25th, 2008

Dear Friends,

The District Atty’s office gave the opening arguments in Hannah’s case yesterday. The D.A. did a very good job in explaining the truth of the facts from May 11, 2006. Our family is doing fairly well and will continue to stay strong and honor our daughter with dignity and class. The idea that Shaking Babies is an answer to the frustration a caregiver has when a child cries is senseless and disgusting. Please continue to send the message to your friends and families that have infants or toddlers, DON’T SHAKE BABIES. The right outcome for justice is on it’s way soon.

Day 1 of Testimony

April 24th, 2008

Dear Friends,

The Jury in Hannah’s case has been chosen. The first day of testimony for Hannah is today in the Auburn Courts. We saw the jury yesterday for a very short time at then end of the process of Voi Dire. We have been informed yet again that the defense is trying to state that Hannah had a problem before the day she was Shaken. This defense is just not true and will not work. We are staying strong and determined to honor our daughter with class and dignity. I can tell you that the defendants family is not pleasant to be around and is always confrontational with our family and friends. Please keep Hannah in your thoughts and prayers. This is a true fight for justice.

1st week of the trial is now over …

April 18th, 2008

Dear Friends,

The first official week of the trial has now concluded. The Jury will be chosen out of hundreds that were called and questioned. It has been tough but we have done well compared to the first trial. The defense is no doubt up to their tactics to deflect the truth with “smoke and mirrors”. The district atty’s are very well prepared and have big surprises for the defense that will put them in their place. Our daughter would be proud of the work being done on her behalf. We have wonderful support and great friends that have been there for our family.

Trial 2 - Day 3

April 16th, 2008

Dear Friends,

Today was day three of the start of the trial for our daughters killer. The process of picking the jury is well on its way. We have been advised that the judge is very strict but fair and reasonable to the facts. The judge has cautioned everyone on the way she wants the court to be respected. There has been a very clear directive to our family that any outbursts related to any testimony whether we agree or not will not be tolerated. We have every intention of respecting the judges order and wishes to keep the trial free of any hostility. We are anxious to tell the truth to the jury of what happened to Hannah. Our intention is to start attending court proceedings very soon. Please continue to pray for our family and the just verdict.

Trial Update - Day 2

April 15th, 2008

Dear Friends,

Today was the second day of the trial (4/15/08). The wait before the testimony begins is very difficult for our family. Lorena and I are very sad and have been reflecting on the past two years with our friends and family. We have been advised of the events in the court room because we are waiting to attend the proceedings when the jury has been chosen to hear the case. Our focus and energy is to make sure that more people stay informed about the effects of Shaken Baby Syndrome regardless of any phony doctors that might dispute the reality. We are consulting with friends and staying as positive as we can. Our boys Jordan and Benjamin are doing very well and we appreciate your kind words and encouragement. We will continue to update our site and let you know what is happening.

1st Day of Second Trial

April 14th, 2008

Dear Friends,

Yesterday was the first day of the second trial of our former nanny. We did not attend the proceedings although we had many of our friends at the court house. We want to keep a daily diary of the events leading up to the start of testimony to document everything for people around the world to see the effects of what happens in these types of cases. The days proceedings were to prepare the jury questionnaire to be handed to all of the potential jurors who will sit on the case. The day was short and will begin again Tuesday April 15th.

Second Trial

April 14th, 2008

Dear Friends & Family,

The second trial to prosecute our former nanny begins tomorrow April 14, 2008. We are almost 2 years come May 13 when Hannah didn’t come home from Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento Ca. We as a family have been stuck in a very difficult position because we haven’t been given the true opportunity to live on from that day. We continue to take one day at a time in our quest to seek justice for our angel who deserves nothing less.

The trial will be located at The Historical Court House in Auburn Ca. We are very proud of the prosecutors preparedness leading up to the second trial. We will keep you advised of the trial as it progresses.

Daryl Gibbs in People Magazine

April 7th, 2008

Dear Friends,

I am proud to share with you our dear friend and mentor in life Mr Daryl Gibbs. This article says it all about the man who fights for the little ones who cant speak for themselves. Our daughters were killed in the hands of our caregivers. The ones who were suppose to love and care for them. Our mission is to spread the word about Shaken Baby syndrome. Please help our mission and make sure you tell someone who is in the care of an infant or toddler that what ever they do “DON’T SHAKE BABIES”. Daryl stayed with our family during our trial and aided us in the most difficult of times. In this photo you can just tell how hurt, strong and determined he looks. I will never stop from making certain we do everything in our power to protect children from being abused.
