8th day of jury deliberations

October 26th, 2007

Dear Friends,

This is now the 8th day of deliberations. The jury has not asked the judge any questions regarding direction they should take. As a family we are waiting and praying for the right verdict. The defense used doctors from other states that were paid tens of thousands of dollars to dispute that Shaking Babies does not cause the damages that Hannah had. Hannah Rose was a stunning little girl with promise of a wonderful life. This is again why we are so strongly against Shaken Baby Syndrome, and we are determined to educate the world of the abuses and effects related to this very serious issue. Please send the message to everyone you know about Hannah Juceam and let them know to Never Shake Babies.

The State of California is close to releasing information about the first Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention Task Force that will report to the Governor. This task force is very important to continue the message that we are taking this issue very serious and as people of California we will not tolerate Abuse of our children.

Jurors in Shaken Baby Trial Go Home After Tearful Day

October 22nd, 2007

Written by Michael Langley, Assistant News Director News10

The Placer County jury deciding whether 16-month-old Hannah Rose Juceam was shaken to death went home Monday without a verdict for Veronica Salcedo, the nanny accused of the baby’s murder.

Earlier in the day, the jury told the judge hearing the case they were deadlocked. Two jurors cried openly when the judge ordered the jury to return to deliberations.

The jury is deliberating charges of second degree murder and child abuse causing death or great bodily injury, after closing arguments finished Tuesday, October 16. Salcedo is accused of violently shaking the toddler at the Juceam’s home in Roseville while she watched the couple’s three children on May 11, 2006.

Hannah Rose Juceam was taken off life support and died two days later. The crux of the argument is whether or not the cause of death was shaken baby syndrome or an undiagnosed illness.

Day 3 of Jury Deliberation

October 19th, 2007

Dear Friends,

Today is day 3 of the deliberations regarding our little angel Hannah Rose. We have been waiting near the court on pins and needles. The Jury has asked for a reading of one our Doctors and we have no idea what to make of this. We are asking to please send positive energy for the right verdict. We have received many kind words and we really appreciate it.

Thank you,
Scott & Lorena Juceam

Dear Friends,

The case is now in the hands of the jury. I wanted to let you know that our family is stronger today then ever before. We would like you to please pray for the right verdict. We will be near the court during the wait and your welcome to call us or email if you would like. Hannah would be proud of the fight we gave for her. I can’t even begin to explain how difficult the entire processs was for Lorena and I. We are pleased that it is over. We thank you for the kind words and prayers.

Monday starts the beginning of the end of Hannah’s in court justice.

October 1st, 2007

Dear Friends,

Monday starts the beginning of the end of Hannah’s in court justice. We are now anxious to get this phase completed. Our family has become stronger through this process that usually destroys people from the devastation of the Criminal Justice System. We will do everything needed to make certain that Hannah gets justice inside and outside the Court. Just yesterday Lorena and i met with some of the most powerful legislators in California again to push them to continue to develop proper laws that help Prevent these types of abuses. The First Law is just several months away from being signed in by the Governor.

Please consider joining us in court to support Hannah and our family in Auburn CA. Going to court isn’t easy but when you have friends with you it is certainly easier to handle the pressure. If you do want to join us you can come for 10 minutes or spend the day. The Historical Court Building in Downtown Auburn Ca. The Domed Building on the hill…

Thank you for your support,
Scott & Lorena Juceam
